The park has 5.6 miles of river frontage along the south fork of the Shenandoah River. The rolling, hilly land features steep slopes and is mostly wooded. Great day use area and trails.
The George Washington Forest stretches along the ruggedly beautiful Appalachian Mountains, extending from one end of Virginia to the other and even crossing into parts of West Virginia and Kentucky.

This prime location offers easy access to the South Fork of the Shenandoah River, making it an ideal starting point for river adventures.
