If you want the same calm water as the tubing trip but give yourself more abilities to explore, paddling the Karo Landing to Front Royal Landing stretch of the river allows you to navigate easier than if you were on a tube. You can rent a solo or tandem kayak or even a three-person canoe to easily glide through the water and explore the banks of the river.

If you’re here for a good time AND a long time, our half-day rafting trips are a perfect day activity. Your group can have four to six people in a raft and experience a half day packed with river adventures. This trip is more strenuous than half-day floats and paddles, so it’s a great way to expend some energy and feel accomplished at the putout. Stop on riverbanks along the way to take a dip, raft through fun and beginner-friendly riffles and rapids, and make the most of your day on the river.
Our full-day raft trips come with everything on half-day trips, including shuttle services, paddles, life vests, instructions from knowledgeable guides, and maps.
Full-Day Kayaking Trip

A full day of kayaking fun will give you a front-row view of Front Royal! Kayaks are easier to navigate than rafts, so you can zigzag down the river chasing views and fun rapids. We have solo and tandem kayaks, so you can choose if you want to embark on the river by yourself or with a friend.

Learn How to Stand Up Paddleboard

Great for: Older children, a good workout, learning a new skill
If you’re on the river to learn something new and get a little sweat on, a SUP intro class is a great option. You’ll paddle the calm waters of King’s Eddy, where there are no rapids to add to the balancing act. You can take as long as you want to paddle over ½ a mile up and down the river to get the hang of a SUP and get a good full-body workout in!
When you book an intro class, no shuttle service is necessary! You will get to enjoy the calm water right at our Front Royal Outdoors base. We will provide a life vest, paddle and SUP for you to practice on. You can take as long as you like, as long as all watercrafts are returned by closing time.
